I let my web do my thinking, 2024
Using the traditional craft of crochet with an unconventional and non-utilitarian approach, lace, cotton, and acrylic yarn create a fragile and resilient web of work. Manipulating tension, weight, and flexibility, the web plays with what pulls us up and what holds us down; mixing together intentional weaving and overlooked entanglement.
The shadows juxtaposed with the projection create a liminal space where creation, destruction, and existence all overlap. “I let my web do my thinking” engenders an imagined reality of healing, where our inner selves are intricately intertwined with our collective relationship with the natural world.
